BARA: A family displaced from Tirah Valley has appealed to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for the immediate release of compensation and relief packages promised after a tragic road accident that claimed three lives during their migration from the conflict-hit area.
Speaking at a press conference here, Awal Badshah of the Shalobar tribe said that on January 7 this year, a vehicle carrying household goods met with an accident near the Naray Baba area while the family was migrating from Tirah Maidan.
He said his son and two grandsons were killed in the accident, while another son sustained serious injuries.The deceased were identified as Mohammad Shah, son of Awal Badshah; Inayatullah, son of Mohammad Shah; and Israfeel, son of Mohammad Shah. Anas, another son of Awal Badshah, was seriously injured in the accident.
However, despite the passage of considerable time, the family has yet to receive the compensation announced for the deceased and the injured. Awal Badshah said the authorities had also failed to provide the promised Rs250,000 house rent assistance.
