Islamabad : The Islamabad Traffic Police has officially commenced a three-day series of commemorative events to mark the first anniversary of ‘Operation Haq – Bunyan-um-Marsoos.’

Under the direct supervision of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Muhammad Sarfraz Virk, the celebrations are designed to honor national unity, with a flagship ceremony scheduled to take place at the Pakistan Monument on May 10.

CTO Virk announced that the festivities include interactive sessions designed to bridge the gap between the police force and the public, inviting participants from all sectors of society to engage in the commemorations. This official launch follows an extensive social media campaign aimed at mobilizing the community and fostering a sense of collective pride.

Reflecting on the significance of the operation, the CTO emphasized that Operation Haq serves as a testament to the unwavering bond between the Pakistani people and their armed forces. He noted that the bravery displayed during the operation represents a historic milestone for the nation, asserting that such moments of profound national importance are rare and deserve significant recognition. He reaffirmed that the Islamabad Police, the Ministry of Interior, and the Government of Pakistan remain steadfast in their support of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

In a call to action for the residents of the capital, the CTO urged citizens to display national flags and badges on their homes, vehicles, and businesses to celebrate the victory with fervor. While encouraging enthusiastic participation, he also reminded the public of the necessity to strictly adhere to traffic regulations during the high-profile events. To ensure the celebrations proceed without disruption, the Islamabad Traffic Police has deployed additional personnel to manage traffic flow across the city.

As part of the outreach efforts, police officials have already begun distributing commemorative shirts, caps, and badges to motorists and pedestrians on major thoroughfares. The upcoming events are expected to draw a diverse assembly of attendees, including civil society members, media representatives, senior government officials, and the Inspector General of Islamabad Police. The district administration has finalized all logistical arrangements to accommodate the anticipated large crowds.

Concluding his remarks, CTO Muhammad Sarfraz Virk stated that the unity demonstrated during Operation Haq has set a global example of Pakistani solidarity. He expressed confidence that the upcoming celebrations would showcase the nation’s patriotism to the world and encouraged every citizen to play an active role in these historic national festivities.
