HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old woman, Mahnoor Magsi, was allegedly shot dead by her husband inside their house in the Phuleli area of Hyderabad, police said on Tuesday.
According to an FIR (No. 96/2026) registered at Phuleli Police Station under Section 302/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the victim’s father, Nazir Ahmed Magsi, the incident took place on May 5.
The complainant stated that his daughter had been married to the accused,Bilal Shah, for the past eight years and had two children. He alleged that Bilal Shah had contracted a second marriage with a woman named Shifa, after which he began subjecting Mahnoor to frequent harassment.
The FIR further states that on the evening prior to the incident, the complainant had visited the accused’s house to resolve domestic disputes, where an argument took place. The next morning, he was informed that his daughter had died. Upon reaching the house, he found Mahnoor lying dead on the floor with a bullet wound to her head. He accused Bilal Shah of killing his daughter with a pistol, allegedly with the support and instigation of his second wife Shifa, as well as his parents, Yasmeen and Asghar Shah.
Police shifted the body to the Civil Hospital Hyderabad for a postmortem examination and have initiated an investigation.
According to family members, the suspect fled the scene after the incident. Police have reportedly detained two suspects and claimed to have recovered narcotics from the house during the action. The victim’s relatives have demanded justice and immediate arrest of the main accused.
