MITHI: Seventeen students from the Government Polytechnic Institute (GPI) Mithi, who were sent to China under a dual diploma scholarship programme sponsored by the Thar Foundation, have successfully completed their examinations with outstanding grades and returned to Pakistan.

The students had been enrolled at Pingdingshan Polytechnic College in Henan Province, China, where they pursued specialised studies. This follows last year’s departure of these students from GPI Mithi, which offers three-year diplomas of associate engineering (DAE) in mining, electrical, mechanical and civil engineering. The programme follows an integrated CCTE dual diploma model focusing on Chinese language, commercial culture, technical skills and employment readiness.

Speaking on the occasion, Thar Foundation General Manager Farhan Ansari termed the students’ success a major milestone and reiterated the foundation’s commitment to providing quality education and skills development opportunities to the youth of Thar.
