Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Syed Asad Raza on Friday taken notice of a viral social media video allegedly showing bribery involving personnel of the Boat Basin police station, resulting in the suspension of two officers.
According to officials, Sub-Inspector Tahir Naveed and Sub-Inspector Safdar had been suspended and directed to report to headquarters with immediate effect. An inquiry into the incident had been assigned to the SSP Investigation South.
DIG Raza stated that there was no room for unprofessional conduct within the police force, adding that strict action would be taken under a zero-tolerance policy in such matters.
