LAHORE : The Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed visited the University of Education (UOE) here on Saturday.
During the visit, he reviewed the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (ORIC) and various laboratories. The HEC Chairman appreciated that the University of Education Lahore was the only university in Pakistan dedicated to providing outstanding services in the field of teacher education.
UOE Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Aqif Anwar Chaudhry while giving a briefing shared that for the first time in its history, the university had been ranked among the top 1,000 universities in the world. He further highlighted that during the current year, the university has presented 13 patents and trademarks in emerging fields of knowledge.
He added that the university was continuously strengthening its role in the field of research and innovation.
Addressing the deans and principals, the HEC Chairman emphasised that higher education institutions must focus on research, innovation, and practical skills to prepare youth in accordance with global standards. He reaffirmed that HEC will continue to extend full support for capacity building of institutions and the professional development of youth.
