LAHORE : Khelta Punjab Pakistan-China Friendship Summer Games will be held in the ongoing month of May at Nishtar Park Sports Complex.
“Punjab Sports Department is making best arrangements to organise Pak-China Friendship Games in a befitting manner. Besides this, the Elite Training Center of Nishtar Park Sports Complex is also being renamed as Pak-China Friendship Centre”.
Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Fazlur Rehman shared this information while chairing a meeting at the Punjab Stadium in which he was briefed about the major features and functions of Punjab Sports Department and Sports Board Punjab.
DG Sports Punjab Tariq Qureshi, Additional Secretary Sports Shabbir Hussain Cheema, Director Admin Abid Shaukat, Director Sports Chand Perveen, Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed and other officials were also present in the meeting.
Secretary Sports Punjab also reviewed the annual sports calendar in the meeting in which DG Sports Punjab gave a detailed briefing about the multiple features and achievements of Sports Board Punjab.
The strategy for outsourcing Punjab’s 100 sports complexes under public-private partnership was also discussed in the meeting.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fazlur Rehman expressed his determination that the Punjab contingent will grab top position in the next edition of National Games. “Athletics competitions will be held in all tehsils, districts and divisions of Punjab province in the ongoing month”.
He said that key reforms will be introduced in Sports Board Punjab to improve its working and enhance its achievements. “Promotion of sports is our mission and in this regard 41 padel tennis courts are also being built across the province”.
He said that all the sports facilities of Punjab have been made online and now the citizens can get all relevant information about all the facilities of Punjab Sports Department from their homes.
