Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab on Friday inaugurated the Habib Bank Pump House in Metroville, where he said the project’s completion is a welcome development for the locals and would lead to a marked improvement in water supply in the area.

Wahab described the project as an important milestone in addressing water scarcity in Metroville, saying that the provision of basic civic facilities remains their top priority. He said that a new 10-inch-diameter water line has been laid from the Habib Bank to the Metroville pumping station, which would help make the water transmission system more efficient and stable.

He pointed out that the new line is expected to significantly enhance water availability across all five sectors of Metroville, benefiting thousands of area residents. He said the pump house would not only improve water transmission but also enhance the overall performance of the system, helping reduce disruptions in supply. He termed the project an important step towards sustainable solutions to urban issues.

He also said development work aimed at improving Karachi’s infrastructure is being expedited, and all available resources are being utilised to enhance civic amenities. He stressed that ensuring uninterrupted supply of potable water is their foremost priority, and every possible effort is being made to achieve this goal.
