PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health Khaleeq-ur-Rehman on Friday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting persons with disabilities.
He made these remarks during his visit to the Habib Physiotherapy Complex, Hayatabad, where he distributed 20 wheelchairs among persons with physical disabilities.He was briefed by Director MMI and management of the Habib Physiotherapy Complex on the wide range of services being provided at the facility. These included physiotherapy, speech therapy, audiology, psychological counseling, and the provision of assistive devices.
The briefing highlighted the institution’s role as a key centre for rehabilitation, catering to patients from across the province.Khaleeq-ur-Rehman visited various sections of the complex, where he interacted with both admitted and outpatient individuals.
He reviewed the treatment being provided to patients suffering from polio, stroke-related paralysis, neurological disorders, and other physical disabilities. The minister met with special children undergoing therapy and elderly patients facing mobility and age-related challenges.
While expressing his satisfaction over the quality of services, the minister appreciated the dedication of doctors, therapists, and staff working at the facility. He acknowledged their vital role in improving the lives of vulnerable segments of society.
The minister said the government was prioritising rehabilitation services alongside curative healthcare, ensuring that no segment of society was left behind.
