Haripur jail gets new superintendent

PESHAWAR: The provincial government has issued orders for the transfer and posting of several officers in the Prisons Department.

According to an official notification, Najam Abbasi has been appointed as Superintendent of the Haripur Central Prison. He is regarded as a pioneer of reforms within the prison system, having initiated the computerization of jail records and the digital preservation of prisoners’ data.

He has been described as a dynamic officer with a reform-oriented vision. His posting to his home district is being viewed as a positive development.Prior to this appointment, Najam Abbasi was serving as Deputy Inspector General at the Inspectorate of Prisons. He has previously served as Superintendent at Peshawar Central Prison, Mardan Central Prison, and Mansehra District Jail.
