MARDAN: Students of the Pakhtunkhwa College of Arts, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan organised an educational study tour to the Galiyat region, focusing on the theme “Colonial Heritage of Galiyat.”
The purpose of the tour was to acquaint students with the historical, cultural, and architectural legacy of the British colonial era in the hill station area. During the visit, students explored several preserved colonial-era structures, including historic buildings, churches, and architectural landmarks, and received detailed briefings on their historical significance.
Faculty members accompanying the group explained that Galiyat served as an important hill station during British rule, and many examples of colonial architecture remain well preserved in the region to this day. Students actively documented these sites through photography and sketching as part of their academic work.As part of the field activity, the students also undertook a walk from Donga Gali to Ayubia, during which they carried banners promoting cultural and educational awareness.
