ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja Thursday said that coming with a “group” and clashing with the system is not the solution, adding everyone will be taken along.

Talking to the media along with PTI leaders, including Ali Muhammad Khan in Rawalpindi, about a kilometer away from the Adiala jail, he contended that Barrister Salman Safdar told the court on Thursday that 85 percent of the PTI founder’s vision had been affected and that he was kept in solitary confinement for 22 hours.

“There is a decision of the larger bench of Islamabad High Court regarding the meeting (but) our meetings have been stopped since October. When we come here, the police stop us and block the road. Today in court, Salman Safdar said the same things before the Chief Justice, who had passed the order last year in March,” he explained.

The PTI secretary general said that they had repeatedly requested that their appeals be heard and also filed several contempt pleas against non-implementation of the IHC order about meetings with the party founder.

But all were dismissed by the court without giving any reasons. Then they went to the Supreme Court against this order in October last year but till now their appeal has not been fixed for hearing.

He noted (Imran Khan’s spouse) Bushra Bibi was taken to the Al-Shifa Eye Hospital in dark of the night and underwent surgery disregarding their repeated requests.

Salman Akram maintained that it was natural for a party whose leader has been in jail for three years to have a situation of anxiety.

“We are seeing who is standing where in the party. The founder of PTI has ordered to follow Mahmood Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas. The party founder has not expressed any displeasure with lawyers,” he clarified.

He emphasised that coming with a “group” and clashing with the system is not the solution.

“We will take everyone along. From today, we will consider this matter and publish the names of those who do not come to Adiala jail,” he said in reply to a question.
