Islamabad:Admissions to all medical and dental colleges for the 2025-2026 academic session have been closed from April 15, 2026 and any student enrolled after the cut-off date will not be registered, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has said.

In a formal directive issued to principals and deans of all recognised institutions, the council made it clear that no admissions are allowed after the deadline and any such enrolment will not be recognised by the regulator.

The PMDC stated that admissions made after April 15 would be treated as a violation of the PMDC Act 2022 and the Medical and Dental Undergraduate Education (Admissions, Curriculum and Conduct) Regulations 2025.

Students admitted beyond the deadline will not be issued registration numbers, effectively rendering their admissions invalid. The council also directed all admitting universities and affiliated colleges to strictly adhere to the notified timelines, warning that any deviation would be considered illegal.

According to the notification, the directive has been issued with the approval of the competent authority and is binding on all institutions involved in the admission process across the country. The PMDC urged institutions and stakeholders to ensure compliance with the rules to maintain merit, transparency and uniform standards in medical and dental education nationwide.
