A new resilience

Through wars, dictatorship and epidemics that emptied streets, the ordinary Pakistani has kept moving on. However, it appears as though it is becoming harder to be resilient amidst today’s inflation and loadshedding. Though people are somehow still managing to adapt, there is now exhaustion behind the resilience. Within this strength that has defined the country’s people, a new voice is beginning to emerge – especially among the younger generation. They carry the same resilience, but they also carry a different expectation: that endurance should lead to change and strength should not be tested endlessly. Their determination is not only to survive, but to shape a future where survival is not the only measure of success. It is time for leaders to lead, for systems to work and for a child not to grow up mastering the art of diluting milk.
