Peshawar: The Insaf Lawyers Forum (ILF), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Tuesday condemned the alleged use of the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) for political motives and retaliatory actions, terming it contrary to the constitutional principle of institutional neutrality.

The forum also announced its decision to challenge the recent decision regarding voting rights at the appropriate legal forum. The statement came during an emergency meeting of the ILF chaired by its KP vice-president, Saifur Rehman Khattak. Participants held a detailed discussion on the legal aspects of the PBC’s recent decision concerning the right to vote.

Expressing serious concern, the participants unanimously resolved that any restriction on the fundamental voting rights of the legal fraternity would not be accepted and would be challenged at every available legal forum.
