PESHAWAR: Strict monitoring is underway to ensure transparency and timely completion of energy projects under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s Good Governance Roadmap Programme, an official said on Sunday.

Speaking at the weekly meeting regarding the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Good Governance Roadmap Programme, Secretary Energy and Power Nisar Ahmad stressed the strict implementation of the guidelines set for ongoing energy projects.

“The work is progressing rapidly on Balakot, Lawi, Gorkin Matiltan, Gabral Kalam, and Madyen Hydropower projects,” he said.

Nisar added that the timely completion of these projects within the stipulated period was a big challenge. He stressed the need to complete solar energy projects as soon as possible to provide immediate relief to the people during the summer season, as well as to complete the ongoing work on mini-micro-hydel stations in districts deprived of electricity.

He issued strict instructions to the project authorities to remove obstacles in the transmission line projects in the Swat corridor to improve the power transmission system and complete them within the stipulated timelines.

Special Secretary Habibullah Arif, Additional Secretary Power & Admin Anwar Khan Sherani, Chief Executive Engineer Anwar ul Haq, and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
