LAHORE : A man allegedly attacked his wife with a knife, leaving her seriously injured in Kot Lakhpat.
A 27-year-old Mehnaz was attacked after she refused to give money for drugs. She sustained multiple injuries and was shifted to General Hospital by Rescue 1122.
The suspect fled the scene, and police have launched raids for his arrest. The victim is under treatment.
Citizens were deprived of cash, gold jewelry, mobile phones, motorcycles, and vehicles during various incidents of theft and robbery across the city.
According to details, in Gujjarpura, Mansoor was robbed of Rs400,000 and a mobile phone. In Lohari Gate, Asfand lost Rs315,000 and a mobile phone. In Garden Town, Taqi was deprived of Rs300,000 and a mobile phone, while in Nawab Town, Gulzar was robbed of Rs200,000 and a mobile phone.
In Civil Lines, Jabbar was deprived of Rs160,000, a mobile phone, and other belongings. Meanwhile, cars were stolen from Green Town and Tibbi City, and motorcycles were stolen from Iqbal Town, Ghaziabad, and Samanabad.
Defence B Police arrested a drug dealer during an operation and registered a case against him.
According to the spokesperson, acting on the instructions of ASP Defence Barira, the police conducted a raid on a tip-off and arrested the suspect, identified as Kamran, while he was allegedly supplying drugs using an online location.
Police recovered more than 2 kilograms of weed worth lakhs of rupees and registered a case. The suspect was reportedly hiding in Alfalah Town children’s park to evade arrest.
SP City Division Atif Ameer continued surprise visits to police stations to improve performance. According to details, he visited Ravi Road Police Station in disguise as a citizen and reviewed overall performance and public dealing. He appreciated staff for courteous behavior toward citizens.
He inspected SIPs SOPs, security arrangements, attendance, records, malkhana, and cleanliness. He also checked the lock-up and directly spoke to detainees. The SP directed officials to ensure public access to facilities and immediate legal action on complaints. He emphasised that torture and illegal detention would not be tolerated and instructed staff to ensure respectful behavior toward citizens.
