MANSEHRA: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Mohammad Yousuf on Friday urged students to excel in science and technology to compete with their peers from developed countries around the world.

“The international community pays rich tributes and respects us as a great nation, as we rank among nuclear countries due to our advancements in science and technology, and have even brought two rival countries, the United States and Iran, to the negotiating table,” he told a function held at a medical institute here.

Sardar Yousuf said that students should devote their full energies to education to serve humanity, adding that a shortage of doctors and other medical professionals in far-flung areas deprives people of quality healthcare.

“Following our success in Operation Bunyan Marsoos, we have not only demonstrated our supremacy in air defence and operations but also taught an unforgettable lesson to our adversary because of the bravery of our defence forces and due to technological advancement,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Nazeer Chaudhry, director of Akbar Institute of Medical Sciences, said that his institution was imparting health education to male and female students at three campuses in the district.
