Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi on Thursday expressed serious concern over delays, slow progress, and alleged mismanagement in the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit project, demanding a judicial inquiry into the matter.
PTI Karachi General Secretary Arsalan Khalid, who visited the project site, said the initiative — launched in 2022 and scheduled for completion in 2024 — remained unfinished even in 2026, reflecting what he termed as incompetence of the relevant authorities.
He noted that the project’s initial cost, estimated at Rs79 billion, had risen to Rs103 billion and was now projected to exceed Rs140 billion.
