MARDAN: Provincial Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi formally inaugurated the solarisation project in the new academic block of the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Jamil Ahmed, MPA Tufail Anjum, MPA Zahir Shah Toru, MPA Zarshad Khan, and MPA Abdul Salam Afridi, Secretary Higher Education Dr Muhammad Israr, and university officials were present on the occasion.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Jamil Ahmed, while giving a briefing, said that the solarisation project has cost a total of Rs 35 million, which is saving the university about Rs 4 million in monthly electricity bills.

He said that blackboard software is being introduced in the university for the first time, while the ERP system has been successfully launched, through which all student fees have been made online.

According to the data, 3790 students graduated in the current semester, while 3800 new students have been admitted. The commercialization of the research projects prepared by the university will be done soon, and the university’s products will be available in the market.
