PESHAWAR: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday rejected the interim bail application of an accused nominated in the suicide attack on a police mobile van near the Ring Road cattle market, following which the accused was arrested from the courtroom.
The bail application was heard by ATC Judge Muhammad Wali Khan.
During the proceedings, the accused, Hamad Mustafa, his counsel, and the prosecutor appeared before the court.
According to the prosecution, the accused was involved in a suicide attack on May 11, 2025, near a police mobile van of Chamkani Police Station on Ring Road.
On the same day, a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) rally was being held in the area, attended by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, while police had set up checkpoints on roads leading to the venue.
