PESHAWAR: Elders of the Landi Arbab area have expressed concerns over search operations conducted by law enforcement agencies in several villages, alleging that people’s privacy is being violated when personnel enter homes without prior notice.

“What is the need for search operations without any rhyme or reason, and that too without a proper search warrant? The common practice of taking elders into confidence before conducting such operations is being deliberately ignored,” complained an elder, Arbab Bilal Ahmad.

He added that such practices are creating a lack of trust between the public and law enforcement agencies.

“There is strong resentment among the public against these unannounced, door-to-door search operations,” he said, adding that in the modern world, authorities should avoid such measures without considering public sentiment.

Other elders clarified that the public has always supported law enforcement agencies in intelligence-based operations against anti-social elements.
