Heavy traffic continues to cause fatal road accidents in Karachi as two motorcyclists were run over and killed by a trailer truck in the Sharafi Goth area of the city on Friday. The truck driver fled the scene after the incident.
Meanwhile, a teenage student and two others also lost their lives in separate road tragedies in parts of the city. Sharafi Goth SHO Imtiaz Niazi said police reached the site immediately after receiving information of a trick hitting two motorcycles. The trailer’s cleaner and a clerk were taken into custody, and the vehicle was impounded and shifted to the police station.
He added that efforts were under way to arrest the driver who escaped after the accident. According to police and hospital sources, the victims were identified as 18-year-old Danish and 20-year-old Mubashir, residents of individuals were found involved in illegal hundi/hawala activities.
