Eight district food controllers removed over corruption allegations

The Sindh food department has ordered removal of eight district food controllers over corruption charges. Officials said that on the directives of Sindh Minister for Food Makhdoom Mehboobuz Zaman, a major action has been initiated against officers involved in corruption and misconduct in the food department, and several district food controllers have been removed from their posts with immediate effect.

According to an official notification issued by the food department, the removed officers have been directed to report to the Food Department Secretariat immediately. As per the notification, Hakim Ali Mahar, district food controller Shikarpur; Khadim Ali Shar, district food controller Ghotki holding additional charge of Kashmore-Kandhkot; Rahul Kumar PK Malani, district food controller Sukkur; Irfan Ali Jokhio, district food controller Khairpur; Nazakat Ali Hisbani, district food controller Tharparkar at Mithi; Mansoor Ahmed Mirani, district food controller Dadu; Jagdesh Kumar, district food controller Larkana holding additional charge of Kambar-Shahdadkot; and Ghulam Farooq Kalari, AFC posted against the post of district food controller Sanghar, have been removed from their assignments.

The food minister said corruption, misconduct and misuse of authority in the department would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He vowed that strict and indiscriminate action would continue against officers working against the public interest or failing to perform their responsibilities with honesty and integrity.
