ISLAMABAD: The HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) is witnessing a powerful rise in its digital footprint, delivering record-breaking growth across its content ecosystem, with archive and non-live video content driving exceptional audience engagement.

The latest consolidated figures underline a clear shift in cricket viewership trends, with fans increasingly gravitating towards on-demand, mobile-first content. Short-form videos, match highlights, extended coverage, and post-match programming have emerged as key drivers of this digital boom, reaching audiences across a wide spectrum of platforms.

According to official data, PSL’s archive content, comprising reels, clips, highlights, extended highlights, posts, shorts and other short-form formats, has generated staggering numbers:

• Over 1.1 billion total views

• More than 3.37 billion impressions

• Over 2.03 billion minutes of watch time

These figures reflect the league’s powerful multi-platform distribution strategy, with content widely consumed across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, WhatsApp and various partner digital networks.

The PSL sources confirmed that these statistics represent only archive and non-live consumption. Live streaming viewership and traditional television audience data for the ongoing season have not yet been included.

Despite the absence of live data, PSL’s archive content alone has already surpassed last season’s comparable non-live digital benchmarks after just 22 matches, a strong indication of the growing appetite for instant, bite-sized cricket content among modern audiences.

A platform-wise breakdown of archive content further highlights the league’s digital dominance:

Facebook leads the chart with an impressive 715.1 million views, followed by Instagram with 210.8 million views. YouTube, including PSL’s network and partners, has contributed over 171.9 million views, while TikTok stands at 68 million views. X (formerly Twitter) has generated 12.1 million views, and WhatsApp distribution has added another 1.5 million views to the tally.

The sustained growth across digital platforms reinforces PSL’s position as one of the most digitally engaging cricket leagues in the region. The league’s ability to captivate audiences beyond live broadcasts reflects its evolving content strategy and deepening fan engagement.

With live streaming figures yet to be finalised, the inclusion of those numbers is expected to present an even more comprehensive and potentially record-breaking picture of PSL 2026’s overall digital performance.

A comparative analysis between last year and this season further illustrates the league’s upward trajectory, cementing its status as a digital powerhouse in modern-day cricket.
