ISLAMABAD: Muhammad Adnan Nazir, an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in BS-20 of the Secretariat Group, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Climate Change Division.

In a significant administrative reshuffle, six officers awaiting posting in the Establishment Division have been appointed as Deputy Secretaries. These include Abdul Ahad, Deputy Secretary (Admin-I); Amjad Ali, Director (PD); Shaukat Ali Khan, Deputy Secretary (PMC); Wasiqa Waheed, Deputy Secretary (CP-II); Falak Sher, Deputy Secretary (Admin-II); and Ghulam Khaliq, Deputy Secretary (Expenditure), all posted within the Establishment Division. Separately, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Azam Ali has been transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division. Another Deputy Secretary from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Munir Shahzad, has been made Officer on Special Duty (OSD) and has proceeded on Leave Preparatory to Retirement (LPR) for one year. In related updates, several senior officers have been notified of their retirement timelines. BS-22 Secretary of the Privatisation Division Hammad Shamimi will retire on September 23, 2026. Joint Secretary Planning Division Niloofar Hafeez will retire on August 6, while Joint Secretary Finance Division Muhammad Pervez Alam will retire on September 22, and Joint Secretary Finance Division Izhar Ahmed on September 18, upon completion of their service tenure.
