Eight lawbreakers detained, weapons recovered

Islamabad:Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Sunday arrested eight accused involved in various criminal activities during ongoing operations across different areas of the federal capital.

An official told APP on Sunday that police teams of Kohsar, Women, Tarnol, Shams Colony, Sihala and Lohi Bher police stations arrested seven accused during crackdown against crime. He said 217 grams of ice, 50 bottles of liquor and three pistols with ammunition were also recovered from their possession.

The official said cases had been registered against the accused and further investigation was underway. Additionally, during a special campaign against proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams arrested another criminal, taking the total number of arrests to eight.

Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza said Islamabad Police was committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens and no one would be allowed to disturb public peace.
