ISLAMABAD: Punjab 2 displayed a ruthless attacking performance against Azad Jammu and Kashmir, while Punjab 3 and Sindh 1 settled for a hard-fought draw as the National Under-18 Hockey Championship continued at the Bunda Ground on Sunday.
Two matches were played during the day, producing a mix of one-sided dominance and closely contested action. In the opening fixture, Punjab 2 overwhelmed Azad Jammu and Kashmir with a resounding 14-0 victory in a completely one-sided encounter. Haneen Noor led the charge with a brilliant hat-trick, while Muhammad Hassan, Babar, and Abu Sufyan contributed two goals each. The remaining goals came through Zunair, Amir, Farhan, Zain, and Rana Dami, each finding the net once to complete the rout.
The second match of the day witnessed a balanced contest between Sindh 1 and Punjab 3, ending in a 1-1 draw. Rehan put Sindh 1 ahead with a fine goal, but Noor responded for Punjab 3 to ensure both sides shared the spoils. President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani was introduced to the teams ahead of the start of the matches.
