LAHORE: Qila Gujjar Singh police on Saturday arrested a suspect allegedly involved in the rape of a girl, tracing him to Karol Bazaar through human intelligence, officials said.
The arrest followed a complaint lodged at Qila Gujjar Singh police station, where the victim re ported that she had been lured to a juice corner and sexually assaulted by the accused, who then fled the scene.
Taking notice of the incident, SP Civil Lines Chaudhry Azar Ali constituted a special team to apprehend the suspect. Acting on intelligence inputs, police located and arrested the accused, identified as Shahzad, from the Karol Bazaar area. According to the police spokesperson, a case (No.704/26) has been registered against the suspect at Qila Gujjar Singh police station.
The police spokesperson said that accused has been handed over to the Investigation Wing for further inquiry, while police said further investigation is underway.
