LAHORE : Provincial Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin has expressed strong displeasure over contractors failing to maintain the required pace of work in Punjab Development Plan (PDP) schemes.
The minister expressed strong displeasure while chairing a meeting regarding the Punjab Development Plan (PDP) here on Saturday.
Secretary Housing Noor-ul-Amin Mengal briefed the meeting on ongoing development projects and the progress of Wasa Punjab.
He informed that efforts are being made to further improve Wasa complexes and enhance cost-effectiveness, while the performance of Wasa Managing Directors will be monitored in line with the pace of work.
The minister directed that all contractors must increase manpower and machinery and ensure round-the-clock progress on development schemes.
He also warned that strict action would be taken against factories involved in artificial price hikes and hoarding of construction materials, adding that no concession would be given under the pretext of regional conditions.
