LAHORE: The Ameer-ud-Din Medical College Principal Prof Dr M Farooq Afzal stated that serving ailing humanity is the noblest virtue and philanthropists who ease the burdens of the distressed achieve success in both worlds.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held to receive a donation of medicines worth Rs5 million for patients of Outdoor Department at Lahore General Hospital (LGH).
Prof. Farooq Afzal highlighted that the spirit of sacrifice shown by affluent members of society is commendable, as such initiatives provide a glimmer of hope for needy patients and strengthen the healthcare system. MS LGH Prof DrFaryad Hussain paid tribute to donors, stating that collective efforts are essential to tackle the challenges facing the health sector. He remarked that these donations provide immediate relief to deserving patients and enhance the overall efficiency of hospital services.
Farooq Afzal directed the LGH administration to maintain a meticulous record of the donated medicines and ensure absolute transparency in their distribution. He stressed that every single tablet is a trust that must reach only the deserving, warning that no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.
