The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested an absconding suspect involved in a visa fraud case during a raid in Karachi.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the action was carried out on the directives of the Karachi Zone Director on the basis of an FIR registered by the FIA, Gujranwala. The raid was conducted in Jamshed Quarters, Khudadad Colony, leading to the arrest of Manzoor-ul-Hassan, son of Nisar Ahmed.

Officials said the suspect was running as an unregistered travel agent and had fraudulently collected Rs13.8 million from a citizen on the pretext of arranging a work permit visa abroad for his son.

The accused failed to fulfil his promise and went into hiding to evade arrest, the spokesperson added. Further legal proceedings are underway.
