LAHORE : Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has extended a warm welcome to Sikh yatrees arriving in Punjab from across the world, particularly from across the border, on Baisakhi celebrations.
She stated that Baisakhi is a beautiful, traditional, and historic festival of Punjab, whose vibrant colours represent the true identity of the region. She emphasised that the government, while upholding its long-standing traditions, will celebrate the festival this year with full enthusiasm and spirit. Referring to past celebrations, she noted that last year, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz personally inaugurated the festivities by harvesting wheat at GurdwaraDarbar Sahib Kartarpur, reflecting deep-rooted affection and connection with the Sikh community. The provincial minister assured that the Punjab government has made excellent arrangements for accommodation, meals, and transportation for Sikh yatrees. A comprehensive and foolproof security plan has also been put in place to ensure that pilgrims can perform their religious rituals in complete peace and safety.
She added that Sikh yatrees have always appreciated Punjab’s hospitality, and this year too, no effort will be spared in serving them.
