SWABI: A female surveyor was shot dead by an officer at the office of the Benazir Income Support Programme following a verbal altercation, police official said.
The victim’s husband Imran Khan, a resident of Gulshanabad, Swabi told the police that he was present at a bakery when he received information that his wife Mehwish Imran had been shot and killed by a BISP officer identified as Shakir, a resident of Bamkhel.
He said that a day earlier, the suspect Shakir had an argument with his wife over an unspecified matter, regarding which he had also lodged a complaint.The police said that an FIR had been registered against the suspect and an investigation was underway, while efforts were being made to arrest the accused.
In a separate incident on Friday, a young man was shot dead by his brother after a heated exchange of words in Karnal Sher Killay in Razar tehsil.Police said that the victim’s father Sanakhwan a resident of Karnal Sher Killay, lodged a report stating that he was sitting in a mosque when he received information that his 25-year-old son Salman had been killed inside their home by his brother Zubair. Upon reaching the house, he found Salman body.
The father stated that a bitter argument had taken place between the two brothers over a dispute, during which Zubair opened fire with a pistol, killing Salman on the spot.Police registered the case and launched an investigation.
