CHITRAL: A large public gathering here on Friday lauded the government and military leadership for ongoing peace efforts in Islamabad and attempts to secure a ceasefire between Iran and the United States.
The rally was organized by the Awami National Party (ANP) at the main Bazaar, which was also attended by workers and leaders of various political partiesANP district president Haji Eid-ul-Hussain, Wajeehuddin of Jamaat-e-Islami, Abdul Wali Khan Abid Advocate, Sifat Zareen and Niaz A Niazi of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Maulana Abdul Akbar of Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat, Maulana Israruddin Al-Hilal of Jamaat-e-Islami, Press Club president Zaheeruddin, Sifat Zareen of PMLN, social worker Inayatullah Aseer, and Imran Hussain of ANP spoke on the occasion.
The speakers appreciated Pakistan’s significant role in promoting global peace. They said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the country has played a key role in averting a major global crisis.
The speakers described the Islamabad peace talks as a major diplomatic achievement for the government and military leadership, saying that it has enhanced Pakistan’s stature on the global stage.The event concluded with special prayers for the country’s security and the success of the ongoing peace negotiations in Islamabad.
