A federal intelligence agency, in coordination with the district administration and the Customs Enforcement team, conducted operations in different parts of Karachi and seized thousands of litres of illegally stored diesel. Several dumping points were also sealed during the crackdown.
According to details, joint raids were carried out with the assistant commissioners of Mauripur and Keamari at the Mauripur Truck Stand, Street No. 5, and Majid Colony, Keamari. During the operation in Mauripur, the authorities seized approximately 12,000 litres of diesel from three tanks and 40 drums, while the total storage capacity at the site was reported to be 15,000 litres.
In another raid in Majid Colony, officials seized 3,200 to 3,500 litres of diesel, where the total storage capacity exceeded 6,000 litres. The facility was reportedly operating under the name Shaheen Oil Traders.
The authorities said that both locations were being used for the illegal storage of Iranian smuggled diesel and oil from the Parco (Pak-Arab Refinery Limited) pipeline, and both sites were sealed.
In Civil Lines, a joint operation with the Civil Lines AC and Customs Enforcement near the Gizri Market led to the seizure of about 10,700 litres of diesel from a dumping point named Al-Noor Sea Castle. The site had a total storage capacity of 25,000 litres, and it was sealed.
In Keamari’s Mawach Goth on Hub River Road, officials seized more than 17,000 litres of diesel from an illegal dumping point operating under the name Sikandar-e-Azam Petroleum Service. Customs authorities seized the fuel and related equipment, while the filling station’s owners Jansheer Khan and Umar were taken into custody.
In the Docks area near Lagri Gola, Islamia Kanta, the authorities seized 5,700 litres of diesel and sealed a facility with a storage capacity of 60,000 litres. Officials said the permitted limit was 10,000 litres, but it was revealed that 50,000 to 60,000 litres of diesel was being sold daily. Several drums and diesel-loaded pickup vehicles were also impounded.
In Nasir Colony, Korangi, a raid was conducted at an illegal filling station reportedly involved in mixing and selling Iranian petrol. The staff fled the scene, but the station was sealed, and further legal action has been initiated.
