HYDERABAD: A monthly meeting of Sindh Abadgar Ittehad (SAI) was held at the central office under the chairmanship of Nawab Zubair Ahmed Talpur, where participants expressed serious concerns over issues facing farmers across the province.
The meeting noted that the Food Department had announced that wheat procurement at the official support price would begin on April 1 through procurement centers. However, participants said that no visible preparations had been made so far and no centers had been established in any district.
Growers also called for removal of all restrictions on the movement and transportation of wheat, stating that such restrictions are causing losses to growers.
