NOWSHERA: A joint operation was carried out by the district administration and police against illegal placer gold mining in the Mandori site area in the jurisdiction of Nizampur Police Station on Wednesday.
The operation was supervised by the Jehangira assistant commissioner, deputy superintendent of police, Akora Khattak Circle, and assistant director monitoring of the Minerals Department.According to DSP Akhtar Naseer, strict action was taken against those involved in illegal mining.
He said that the authorities seized three excavators and disabled them on the spot, while three illegal processing plants were demolished.Batteries and other equipment were also confiscated and handed over to DC staff.
Additionally, during various checkpoints, seven more excavators were taken into custody, and legal action was initiated against their owners.Police provided full security during the operation, ensuring it was conducted peacefully and in an organised manner.
District administration and police officials made it clear that illegal mining would not be tolerated under any circumstances, and indiscriminate action would continue against those involved.They urged the people to report illegal activities promptly so that immediate action could taken.
