PESHAWAR: The annual examinations for 9th and 10th grade students commenced across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday, including the provincial capital, Peshawar.
According to official sources, a total of 9,17,532 students are appearing in the examinations under eight educational boards across the province.As many as 3,396 examination centres have been set up to facilitate the process.
Security and administrative arrangements have been put in place, with 23,708 personnel deployed to ensure smooth conduct of the exams.Among the total examination centres, 1,808 area designated for male students, while 1,133 for female students.
To maintain transparency and prevent cheating, CCTV cameras have been installed at examination centres.Additionally, Section 144 has been imposed outside exam halls to restrict unauthorized gatherings and ensure discipline.
The cluster system has been introduced by the authorities stating with the hope it would help enhance transparency and significantly reduce the chances of cheating.They expressed confidence that the examinations will be conducted in a fair and organized manner across the province.
However, concerns have been expressed by parents and private schools as well citing the inconvenience the students will face in reaching exam halls cited away from their schools under the cluster system.
