MARDAN: Seven labourers were killed and three others sustained injuries during mining in Nangabad in Rustam area, Rescue 1122 sources said on Tuesday.
They said that a tragic incident took place in the Nangabad mining area in Rustam where ballast stones fell on a mining site. The labourers working at the site were trapped under the stones.
The Rescue 1122 teams immediately rushed to the site and began relief operations. The bodies of trapped labourers were retrieved and the injured were rescued after hectic efforts.The victims were then shifted to the hospital for medico legal formalities and medical treatment.
According to Rescue 1122, rescue operations were initiated immediately after receiving news of the accident, and seven ambulances, a disaster response vehicle, and an excavator were sent to the site to rescue those trapped.So far, three injured persons and seven bodies were pulled from rocks.
