LAHORE: Former Pakistan fast bowler Sohail Tanvir has been appointed as the new bowling coach of Quetta Gladiators, taking over the role previously held by Wahab Riaz.
Tanvir is expected to join the squad on March 31 ahead of their upcoming fixtures in the HBL Pakistan Super League 11. Team manager Azam Khan expressed confidence in the move, highlighting Tanvir’s wealth of experience as a left-arm pacer who represented Pakistan across formats. “Tanvir’s experience will greatly benefit the team’s bowling unit and help emerging players refine their skills,” Khan said.
Tanvir, known for his unorthodox action and success in T20 leagues worldwide, brings both international pedigree and domestic know-how to a Gladiators side looking to strengthen its bowling depth.
The change comes after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) withdrew Wahab Riaz’s No Objection Certificate (NOC) due to his commitments with the women’s cricket setup. As a result, Quetta Gladiators parted ways with Riaz, who had been serving as bowling coach.
