ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan national football team is fully prepared and optimistic about securing a positive result against Myanmar in their Tuesday AFC Asian Cup qualifying round fixture, head coach Nolberto Solano said.

Addressing the media ahead of the match, Solano expressed confidence in his squad, stating that the players are determined to deliver and represent the country with pride despite various challenges.

“The team is fully prepared and hopeful of a good result. Our players are motivated and ready to fight,” he said. Captain Alamgir Ghazi echoed his sentiments, asserting that the players are brimming with confidence and will give their all until the final whistle. “We had an excellent eight-day training camp. The players are physically fit and mentally ready for the challenge,” he added.

Solano highlighted that the Pakistan Football Federation is working on a long-term vision to strengthen the national side by providing greater opportunities to local players by 2027. “There is immense potential in our young local talent, and they must be given a fair chance to prove themselves. At the same time, diaspora players will also continue to be part of our plans moving forward,” he said.

The coach revealed that the match against Myanmar will also serve as an opportunity to test new combinations and players, as part of the team’s broader development strategy. “We are building a strong, organised unit that can become a difficult opponent for any team. Our aim is that every side playing against Pakistan should realise that taking three points here will not be easy,” Solano remarked.
