BANNU: The local police destroyed the poppy crop cultivated on a six-kanal of land and registered cases against the owners.
According to details, under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Saddar Circle, Riaz Khattak, a joint team comprising Domail, Township, and Basiakhel police carried out the operation of narcotics and destroyed the cultivated poppy crop spread over six kanals.
The police sources said they had received intelligence reports that poppy was being cultivated for drug purposes in the area of Doamanzi Bizankhel in the limits of Township Police Station.Acting swiftly on the information, the police team reached the site and completely destroyed the crop.
During the operation, cases were registered against the involved persons under relevant sections at Township Police Station, and further investigation was initiated.
