LAHORE: Rawalpindi Pindiz’s opener Yasir Khan pointed out that his team needs to address the weakness in their bowling department to support their batting.

In a press conference after Rawalpindi Pindiz’s debut outing in PSL 11, opener Yasir Khan spoke about the positives and lessons from their high-scoring clash against Peshawar Zalmi. Despite his brilliant 83 off 46 balls, Yasir admitted that the team will need to sharpen its execution, especially with the ball, to turn strong batting performances into victories.

“The target was quite good, but the wicket was also excellent. Since this was our first match of the tournament, we will look to learn from our mistakes and ensure we don’t repeat them in the next game. Personally, I’ve had some good T20 performances coming into the PSL, including two half-centuries in recent tournaments, so I’m happy to start well here too,” Yasir said.

He also touched on the absence of fans in the stands, noting how their presence adds energy to the players. “We are definitely missing the fans. We hope and pray that the crowds can return to the grounds soon. Regarding the pitch, every day brings a different wicket. Today was very batter-friendly, but we’ll have to see how it plays in the coming matches,” he explained.

Yasir emphasized the importance of building on his strong start. “A good start gives a player a lot of confidence, which ultimately benefits the team. I’ll try to continue this form throughout the long journey ahead in this tournament,” he concluded.
