LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League season 11 continues with a fascinating clash between Peshawar Zalmi and debutants Rawalpindi Pindiz on Saturday (today).

Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, enter the season determined to erase memories of their inconsistent 2025 campaign. Despite flashes of brilliance, they failed to secure playoff qualification last year. With a revamped squad and a blend of youth and experience, Zalmi are eager to reassert themselves as one of the PSL’s most reliable franchises.

awalpindi Pindiz, meanwhile, are making their debut season after the league’s expansion to eight teams. Emerging from the ashes of the Multan Sultans, the Pindiz have rebuilt with fresh talent and a new identity. Their transformation is aimed at proving that past struggles are behind them, and they arrive with unpredictability as their biggest weapon.

In their opening encpounter, Peshawar Zalmi will look towards Babar Azam as their backbone of batting. His consistency and leadership remain vital and Mohammad Haris, an aggressive wicketkeeper-batsman who can change the tempo of an innings.

For Rawalpindi Pindiz, Mohammad Rizwan (c) would be the key campaigner with his calm and reliable approach. He is expected to anchor the batting. Sam Billings and Daryl Mitchell, these middle-order hitters could bring international experience to the side. Naseem Shah and Mohammad Amir with their raw pace and swing, form a dangerous new-ball attack.

The Gaddafi Stadium is expected to offer a batting-friendly surface with true bounce, rewarding stroke play. A par score is likely in the 180–190 range, making powerplay momentum and death-over hitting crucial. With warm day conditions cooling into the evening, dew could play a role in the second innings, favoring chasing sides.

There will be marquee contest between Pakistan’s premier batter and two of its finest pacers a Babar Azam vs Naseem Shah/Mohammad Amir. On the other hand it will be Rizwan against Zalmi Pacers. His ability to absorb pressure and build a platform will dictate Pindiz’s chase.

While Peshawar Zalmi carry experience and balance, the Rawalpindi Pindiz bring unpredictability and fresh energy. With Rizwan’s leadership and Khawaja’s form, the debutants could surprise. Analysts lean slightly towards Rawalpindi Pindiz for an upset, but Zalmi’s proven match-winners with experience make this a finely poised contest.
