As tensions between the US and Iran escalate, Pakistan has stepped up to play a constructive, mediating role. It has long standing ties with Washington and shares a border, cultural links and regional interests with Tehran. Few countries can credibly communicate with both sides in a crisis. By offering to facilitate understanding rather than take sides, Islamabad projects balance. This role has also drawn international recognition. Pakistan appeared in global headlines not for regional security concerns, but as a potential bridge between adversaries. In diplomacy, perception matters and the idea that Pakistan can encourage talks enhances its standing beyond South Asia.
