PESHAWAR: Director General of the Cultural Centre of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Peshawar, Dr Hussain Chaghomi, said on Thursday the Nowruz (New Year) message by Iranian leader Sayyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, amid shadow of conflict, signified Pakistan’s role in emerging regional order.

According to a communication issued by the centre, the Nowruz message delivered by the newly appointed Iran’s leader, goes far beyond a ceremonial address.“It offers a clear indication of evolving regional dynamics in an increasingly complex and multi-dimensional conflict environment, highlighting the reshaping roles of key states - with Pakistan prominently in focus,” said the Iranian cultural diplomat.

According to the message, recent developments have demonstrated that external pressure, military strikes, and attempts to incite internal instability have largely failed to achieve their intended objectives.

“In some cases, these efforts have instead strengthened internal cohesion. This observation holds particular relevance for countries like Pakistan, where domestic stability directly influences the capacity to respond to external challenges,” he pointed out.

Dr Hussain Chaghomi said the current crisis, the message suggests, is not confined to conventional warfare but constitutes a broader “hybrid warfare” scenario, encompassing military, security, economic, and media dimensions, with far-reaching implications across the region.

He said Mojtaba Khamenei outlined this year’s national slogan as: “A resilient economy under the shadow of national unity and national security emphasizing the centrality of economic stability”. He noted that strengthening public livelihoods is fundamental to prosperity, wealth creation, and resilience against economic warfare, while also serving as a driver of development.

The Iranian diplomat said in a notable personal reflection, the Iranian leader described engaging directly with ordinary citizens to better understand public concerns. He revealed that he had, for a period, traveled incognito in taxis across Tehran to listen to people’s conversations, a method he described as more effective than conventional sampling approaches. Dr Hussain Chaghomi said that many of the Mojtaba Khamenei views affirmed his commitment to continued learning.

The most significant portion of the address, he pointed out, however, focused on Pakistan. He said Mojtaba Khamenei stated that Iran regarded its eastern neighbours as close partners, adding that Pakistan had long held a special place in the eyes of the late leader, Ali Khamenei.

Expressing his own concurrence, Mojtaba Khamenei emphasized the importance of strengthening relations with both Pakistan and Afghanistan. The cultural diplomat said that the Iranian leader urged the two neighboring countries to improve bilateral ties, if not for strategic reasons, then for the sake of Divine pleasure and the unity of the Muslim Ummah , and offered Iran’s full support in facilitating such efforts.

Dr Hussain Chghimi said the message underscored Iran’s strategic outlook toward its eastern neighbours, particularly Pakistan, highlighting shared historical, political, and humanitarian bonds.

“It also stresses that improved relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan are essential not only for regional stability but also for broader Muslim unity, given their direct impact on border security, stability, and regional economic connectivity,” he pointed out.
