PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Press Club (PPC) President M Riaz, formally inaugurated the “Ehsas Tree Plantation Campaign” by planting a sapling on the lawn of the club on Pakistan Day.

PPC Vice President Zia-ul-Haq, Vice President of the Khyber Union of Journalists Shehzad Ahmad, senior journalist Riffat Orakzai and other newspersons were present.

Highlighting the importance of the tree plantation campaign, M. Riaz stated that, unfortunately, Pakistan is among the three to four countries currently facing severe environmental threats due to extreme climate change.

He noted that one of the major reasons behind these challenges is the indiscriminate cutting of trees and the lack of new plantations.
