PESHAWAR: Alkhidmat Foundation has distributed Eid gifts and Edi to over 6,000 orphaned and underprivileged children across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as one such ceremony was held at the provincial headquarters of the foundation on Monday.

A good number of orphaned children attended the ceremony and received their gifts from the office-bearers of the foundation and guests of honour.

Provincial President of the foundation Khalid Waqas, Peshawar Press Club President Mohammad Riaz, Vice-President Ziaul Haq, district president of the foundation Iftikhar Ahmad and others gave away the gifts to the participating orphaned children.

Speaking on the occasion, Khalid Waqas said that Alkhidmat Foundation has continued its tradition, by giving away Eid gifts to over 6,500 orphaned and resilient children, including street children this year under its care across the province. “The distribution drive remained underway from the last ten days of Ramadan until the third day of Eid”, he said.

He said that under the Family Support Programme and Aghosh Homes of the foundation, children in the provincial metropolis and other districts were taken to major shopping malls where they were facilitated in purchasing Eid clothes and other essentials.

Special ceremonies were also held during all three days of Eid to distribute gifts among the children, he added. Khalid Waqas added that Alkhidmat Foundation is currently supporting over 36,000 orphaned children across the country, including more than 6,000 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Mohammad Riaz said that the selfless services of Alkhidmat Foundation are a source of pride not only for the organization but for the entire nation.

He said the foundation’s welfare activities transcend distinctions of colour, race, language, religion, political affiliation, or region, and are solely focused on serving humanity.

Mohammad Riaz added that Alkhidmat’s services have expanded beyond Pakistan to different parts of the world, noting that its ongoing humanitarian efforts in Gaza and Palestine stand as a testament to its commitment. He said that the organization today represents a national-level welfare body whose contributions are commendable for the entire nation.
