HYDERABAD: Senior leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Allama Rashid Mahmood Soomro has said the United States and Israel are badly stuck in the region, while Iran serves as the lifeline of the Middle East.

He expressed these views while talking to a delegation led by Sindh JUI Press Secretary Dr AG Ansari that met him in Gulshan-e-Shaheed, Hyderabad.

Soomro said meetings of Muslim countries without practical unity were like applying kohl in the eyes of the United States, adding that if Muslim nations failed to unite on a single platform, they would continue to get weakened one by one.

He stated that the United States did not want stability in Afghanistan, and stressed that Afghanistan and Pakistan must resolve their issues through serious dialogue in order to move toward peace and economic stability.

The JUI leader also announced that an important meeting of the party’s central consultative body would be held from April 4 to 6 under the chairmanship of Maulana Fazlur Rehman to review the latest global, Middle Eastern and domestic political situation.

He announced that the Sindh visit planned by the JUI’s provincial chapter had now been rescheduled and would start on April 15.

According to Soomro, the visit was part of a contact campaign for the success of the historic World Peace Conference scheduled for March 2027, which was expected to be attended by imams of the Two Holy Mosques as well as ambassadors and prominent international personalities from across the world.
